Words from Lillian Vernon
Words from Lillian Vernon
I like to read biographies and autobiographies. I learn so much from the lessons of these successful people. There are usually some words about being organized or managing your time in each book as well. Of course, I am probably looking for these quotes, but I am always amazed that in each book organization is noted.
I am reading “An Eye For Winners, How I Built One of America’s Greatest Direct-Mail Businesses” by Lillian Vernon. I’d like to share what she said.
“One reason women make such great managers in business is that they have experience dealing with multiple distractions. Time management is an invaluable skill, and I honed mine running a household and a business simultaneously. Once you’ve dressed a struggling infant in a snowsuit, argued about the gas bill, and composed an enticing ad – all while the meatloaf bakes in the oven – the rest is a breeze.”
This made me laugh because it is so true. Go, Lillian! You are amazing!

Are you afraid to start an organizing project just to be overwhelmed or lose motivation in the middle, to be left with even more chaos? You are not alone. That’s the fear of most people who don’t have time to allot to a big organizing project.
