What People Ask Before Booking a Session
Not sure what to expect? You’re not alone. Whether you’re feeling hesitant, hopeful, or just want the details, we’ve answered the most common questions people ask before working with us — from how sessions unfold to what you need to do (or don’t) ahead of time.
Do I need to clean before the session?
No need to clean first.
We actually prefer to see your space as it is — it helps us understand what’s getting in your way. As long as it’s safe and sanitary, we’re good to go.
Will I be pressured to throw things out?
No. You stay in control.
We guide the process and offer suggestions, but every decision is yours. You choose what stays and what goes.
I’m embarrassed by my space. Should I wait?
Please don’t worry — most clients feel that way at first. And nearly all of them say they wish they’d started sooner.
We’ve seen every kind of space. No judgment, ever.
What if I’m not sure where to start?
That’s totally normal. We’ll talk it through during your free consult and start each session with a clear, simple plan.
Do I need to be home during the session?
It depends on the project. If we need your input for decisions, we’ll check in. Otherwise, we’re happy to work independently on sorting, labeling, or setting up systems while you handle other things.
Do you offer weekend or evening appointments?
Yes, depending on availability. We’ll work with you to find a time that fits your schedule.
Do you handle donations?
Yes. We’re happy to handle donation drop-off or schedule a pickup for a $75 fee. Just let us know what works best.
Can organizing be covered by FSA or HSA funds?
Sometimes — with the right documentation.
Some clients have used FSA or HSA funds to cover organizing services, but it usually requires a letter of medical necessity from a healthcare provider. We’re happy to provide receipts or session summaries if your plan allows reimbursement.
What about hoarding or more complex situations?
We regularly support clients dealing with long-term disorganization, emotional attachment to items, or overwhelming clutter. If your situation is especially complex, we’ll meet you with care and respect. And if it turns out another service is a better fit, we’ll help guide you in the right direction. You’re not alone in this.
What Our Clients Say
For some, it’s a clutter-free kitchen the day after a move. For others, it’s finally reclaiming a space they’d long avoided. Again and again, our clients tell us the same thing: This changed more than just my space—it changed how I feel in it. Here are a few stories from people who let us in, let go of the chaos, and found something better on the other side.
