Responsibility Chart

Responsibility Chart

By Basic Organization team member Tracy Wells.

Have you been to your local Target store lately? If not, you should check out the office department. They have a lot of great organizing products that will simplify your life. I purchased several that have a magnet back for the refrigerator.

One that I really like is the responsibility chart. It comes with 5 magnetic markers and 1 magnetic eraser to create a complete set.  So, for those of you who can’t seem to get your family to help you, consider purchasing one and putting it to use.

The bottom of the chart has space for you to include a reward. It could be anything you think your child or family would like. Maybe your child would like a money gift for his/her chores. Or how about some ice cream or a hug?

With the new year just around the corner, you could make it part of your New Year’s Resolution to get the whole family involved in the daily household tasks. All it takes is a little planning to set up the system. Once you start you’ll be thankful you did because now you have created more opportunities for yourself to simplify your time and teach your family the importance of time management, selflessness, giving, and helping others. These are important skills we should all know and learn.

Do you struggle with getting and staying organized?

Are you afraid to start an organizing project just to be overwhelmed or lose motivation in the middle, to be left with even more chaos? You are not alone. That’s the fear of most people who don’t have time to allot to a big organizing project.
