Great Gift Wrap Storage
Sometimes we get creative, as we did with a recent project for a client. She had a small closet under a staircase that she wanted to make better use of. We turned it into a great storage space for her gift-wrapping supplies.
Our staff handyman created ribbon storage that takes advantage of the slanted ceiling in the closet. This creative solution makes it easy for the client to see and choose the ribbon type she wants. It’s also easy to take out an empty ribbon roll and add a new one. By hanging the beautiful ribbon we created a colorful, fun effect in the closet. It made this small space into a little party every time she enters!
There is also lots of shelf storage for ready-made bows, rolls for gift wrap, gift tags, tissue paper, gift bags, and boxes. Even some space for those grab-and-go hostess gifts that everyone needs this time of year.
What a great creative solution! Consider finding a small, unused space in your home to store a certain kind of item. Label (name) the space in which you want to use it. I mean, start calling it “the gift wrap closet” “the shoe closet”, or “the tablecloth shelf”. This will communicate the use to everyone in the household and fewer stray items will find their way into the space.

Are you afraid to start an organizing project just to be overwhelmed or lose motivation in the middle, to be left with even more chaos? You are not alone. That’s the fear of most people who don’t have time to allot to a big organizing project.
