"Out of Milk" Changed the Way We Shop

“Out of Milk” Changed the Way We Shop

For years my husband did our family’s grocery shopping. He was great at it. He’d go regularly (once a week, which saved us a lot of money), he followed the list I created (which saved us a lot of money) and he was not a compulsive shopper (which saved us a lot of money).

Years ago, I made it as efficient as possible by creating a word document with our most purchased groceries listed. The items were listed in the order he walked through the store, so there was no back-tracking down the aisles). Our personal list worked really well.

This customized method was great when we were a family of 4, but now that times have changed, we have changed the way we grocery shop.

What’s changed? We are a family of two now. Both of us are busy professionals who spend more time outside the house. We are trying to eat healthier. AND, we are using technology to stay organized.

We are using the app Out of Milk for our grocery list. Actually, you can make many (several, a gazillion) lists. It works on iPhones, Androids, and your PC. You can share and sync lists with other people, which is what we do.

We keep a running list with the app. When we stop by the store to pick up something, we can both check the list on our phones and check off items as we throw them in our cart. It also works really well if we go to the store together. We can divide and concur with the syncing feature.

This technology has saved us a lot of time and changed the way we do our grocery shopping. Have you tried an app that has changed the way you do something? Let us know.

Out of Milk is the only one I’ve ever used. It works so well I have no desire to try anything else.

I love it too Cheryl. It’s so easy. I think it’s the only app my (not-tech-friendly) husband uses.

My husband and I just discovered Out of Milk and have been using it the last few weeks. So efficient. Love it! So easy the way it syncs on all of our devices.

Carol, thanks for your comments. I love the syncing as well. Since I am always adding to the list, I know that my husband always has the most current list when he runs in for a few things.
