You ask great questions. I love my office in my new home. I took a long time getting it set up just the way I wanted it. I made sure there was good paper flow and that it was easy for me to put things back. I have a tendency to pile things ‘just for now’ if I can’t put them away easily.

So glad you were able to start fresh and create an office you love. I think usually this doesn’t happen. People just set up an office by default.

What a great quiz with specific ways to identify where the office might need help! I’m happy to report that things are in great shape over here. Several years back, my husband helped me design a “Linda space.” Not only is the physical aspect inspiring, as it’s done in my favorite colors, but the storage and systems are carefully designed too. I love being, working, and creating here.

Sounds great! I was very thoughtful about setting up my office too. I have one orange wall. It’s the one behind me on zoom calls. I think it’s bright and cheery. My son told me he didn’t like it and I responded that I didn’t care. It’s my space and it makes me happy.

I love this quiz! I don’t normally see quizzes about the office. I am definitely sharing this one with my Facebook small business group!

Thanks Sabrina. Yes. I guess I don’t see them either. It’s a good thought.

That was fun! Have to say I don’t really have much of an office. I have a desk in my kitchen that is where I store my paperwork and electronics, and then a separate space in a hall closet where I keep bulkier supplies. However, I do know where everything is, I do have filing that I use, and I think someone could find what was needed should anything happen to me. In fact, YOUR presentation at NAPO-CT inspired me to update my Policy and Procedures, so it is even better now! 🙂

Great Seana. I enjoyed presenting. You are probably one of the few people I know that use the desk in your kitchen well. Most people just drop clutter there. Although these days when everything is digital I think it’s doable.

Good questions! Asking about functionality is so important. I love thinking about whether someone else could use my office if I weren’t there. That creates a great new perspective,

Yes. I have a secret spot where I keep my major passwords and I keep my paperwork organized. My family knows where to find the most important things. Just in case!

Stellar questions! When I worked in television, I wasn’t always happy, so I did a lot to decorate my office and give me uplift. As an organizer, speaker, and writer, I’m so much happier that I don’t usually think of myself as needing beauty in my space. (To be honest, I rarely pay attention to visual aesthetics in my own space, and generally ignore it to focus on functionality.) So, while my score is high on #s 1-8, and mostly 10, I definitely fall by the wayside in item 9; I wonder if I can get a negative number on beauty? However, this timely, as on Sunday for my birthday, a friend gave me a print of a watercolor of our alma mater done in the style of Van Gogh, and it may be just the simple, lovely ticket to earn points on Question #9!

Sounds lovely Julie. Many years ago I worked in an office and my space had no windows (government work!). I had a colleague bring a pretty table lamp from home to set on her desk. It was both decorative and functional. She also had no window so spent all day under fluorescent lighting. Very quickly she was told that she couldn’t have the light. WHY??? I thought It certainly made her space more inviting and probably easier for her to do her work. Glad I’m not in the corporate world any longer.
