Cure Closet Chaos

Cure Closet Chaos

The change in seasons marks the best time to reorganize your clothes closet. Soon the summer clothing will be layered-over with sweaters or tucked away til spring. At the same time, you are pulling out the long sleeves and boots. Taking the time to organize your closet now will help you stay organized throughout the winter months.

Editing your wardrobe will be the first step. Decide what to keep, what to put in storage, and what to give away. Any summer clothing that you did not wear this year is a candidate for donation.

Use all the same hangers. You may need to make a purchase to do this, but it will make a big difference. It doesn’t have to be expensive, plastic and fuzzy hangers are reasonably priced. You’ll have to re-hang each item, which will help you re-evaluate each piece as well.

Organize hanging garments by both type and color. This exercise makes it so easy to find what you are looking for. It may also open your eyes to how many pairs of black pants you actually have.

Store your shoes in a way that works for you. Whether that’s on the floor, wall, or shelf. Finding homes for all of them will ensure that they are protected from damage or loss.

Again, taking the time to cure your closet chaos now will help you stay organized in the future.
